This album covers my installation of a Garmin Nuvi 205w GPS. This is a very quick mod, since all the GPS needs is power. I ran the power cord along the windshield bottom, and down the driver’s side under the plastic parts. I used a 12 volt plug under the dash, so I didn’t have to cut the wires. The unit can easily be removed by taking off the A pillar cover and pulling out the wire.
I also purchased a padded cover and backup power cord on eBay. These make it easy to transfer the GPS to another vehicle or take it on vacation.
A great tip is to buy the FM Traffic power adapter for your GPS on EBay. It’s less than $20 and it doesn’t require a subscription. I now have free traffic information when I travel.
